Where to value NASCAR sealed kit collection
Posted by Rocky500 on Friday, December 23, 2011 9:15 AM

I have a large collection of sealed Revell and AMT NASCAR model kits that are 20 - 30 years old. Some I bought as doubles - building one and collecting the other. Many are very rare - at least I think so.

Is there a trusted web site that I can use to find out the value of these kits? Thanks.

I believe that there are actually books out there that can help.

Here's one on Half.com--expensive, but maybe an investment that would pay off?

Ebay would be the best place to look. The value of Nascar kits has dropped big time.

Most kits are worth about $5.00 if you can sell them.

Unfortunantly mhuhtala  is right. The bottom has fell out of nascar models.I looked at selling off some of my doubles awhile back.I watched sealed kits with opening bids of .99 not even sellCrying If ya have any Mark Martin kits let me know.Maybe we could work a deal out.

rocky 500

you have a couple options

1 put them on ebay. put the lesser ones on first to get the hang of it

2 wait until the economy picks up

3 keep them you might change your mind later

happy holidays!

Thanks for the replies.

For now, I'm going to hang onto my collection. I wasn't considering selling them anyway, but was just curious as to the value and current market. But I was a little disappointed that they aren't worth all that much now. Some years ago I paid quite a bit of money for a Bill Elliott kit that I expected to increase in value. Thanks again all.

Merry Christmas to all.
