The 1/32 scale slot cars were popular in the 1960s and ,apparently, have made something of a comeback in my area:

The place is huge compared to the  slot car tracks I saw as a child in the 1960s.

I'm thinking 'slot car' body for the snap kit.

I'd really like to apologize now for anything I may say or do later that offends you. Thank you.

Cadet Chuck

I was disappointed with the 1/32 Batmobile and just wanted to make you all aware that there are two versions of this kit floating around.  Based on the review, it sounds like the 1/25 scale model would be far more preferable.

chuck, how about you buy the proper 1/25 kit for your batmobile, and turn the 1/35 into something else. hot rod, monster truck, hearse, whatever takes your fancy. (that or flip it on ebay)

Can't expect a state of the art model from nearly 40 year old tooling. Cool

The 1:25 kits are some of the best-engineered American car kits I've ever worked with, as far as parts fit goes. And the car was based off 3D scans of the 1:1, so you know the body is right. The Ford V8 engine is pretty weak as far as detail, but that's the only real downfall from where I stand.

Only significant problem I have is with the steering. You need to trim the bottom of the splash apron, where it meets the fender opening. Otherwise the tire hits.

Trim the fenders as shown, and you have free movement of the steering left to right.

That is the only significant fit issue I have found.

I'd really like to apologize now for anything I may say or do later that offends you. Thank you.

If the box looks like this:

You unknowingly purchased the re-issue of the old AURORA Batmobile kit dating from 1967 or 1968.

I was unaware the decals were so poorly made.

I hope the 1/25th scale kits have better decals.

There is a nice review in the March 2012 FSM of a 1/25 scale Batmobile from Polar Lights, and it sounds like a great kit.

However, there is also a 1/32 Batmobile from Polar Lights on the market, which I mistakenly purchased a couple months ago.  It is far inferior to the 1/25 model described in this review,  I consider it to be a toy, not a model.

Parts did not fit well, details such as the engine, were not included, and the decals were apparently old and practically unuseable- they were difficult to release from  the paper and splintered into little pieces when I tried to slide them off.

Good to know, thanks. This is one of those little details that would have driven me crazy not to have known if I mistakenly purchased the inferior kit!
