coat hanger for supporting car bodies

I was trying to help a car builder and suggested the bent up coat hanger for supporting a car body while you airbrush it. Are there any articles that show a picture of it? I realize it's a fairly simple thing, but I don't build cars and I can't describe it well enough for it to make sense.
Why isn't phonics spelled like it sounds?
