Building this for a friend who's giving it to her dad for his birthday.  I'll mount it to a 1953 WV license plate when its done.

Steve,

Tremendous job on this fine model! As a lover of rusted out cars, I"m always looking for new ideas and techniques--can you tell us how you got the spierwebbed-look of the windshield?

And did you use a "salt" method to get that pebbly finish?

Can you share a little of your methods here?

Thanks Doog- The widow was shot out with an Exacto and ten simply scratched to look shattered.  I primed the body gray, applied, sprayed with a little water, salted it, and then shot it some camo green spray paint that I had.  For the rust, it was applied when the green was still wet, and then rubbed down with my fingers.,  I make my own rust by spraying steel wool with water, letting it do its thing, and then use the rust dust to weather the vehicles.

I throw everything at these, as I'm replicating 50 plus years of neglect and pretty much anything goes- I'll add some pictures of the finished truck tonight

Hope you did not really shot the 'widow'. Love the weather you have done and looking forward to seeing the end results.

Very nice beat-up look (sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it?).
