adding chrome

    This may be too late . If you are building the 1/12 MONOGRAM kit there is something that was wrong with that car .When I was building mine I realized the raised crease present on All 57s on the front fender centerline was not molded on .

      What I did was locate a piece of .010 wire in that spot and use filler to flare it in . Then prime and sand till it looked like it was molded that way . It runs to the crown over the lights to a point just opposite the middle of the curve in the windshield at the sides .             T.B.

These guys are all hitting the nail right on the head. It's just one thing less that you have to work around.

Chrome pieces are the last thing I put on, with the exception of decals.

I usually do them just before the last clear - coat .That way they are preserved under a coat of paint and can't smudge , peel or otherwise get junky looking .

I generally do it very late, after all painting and most assembly.   Glued on chrome pieces are more robust than BMF, so I think you have more options with those, but BMF is close to last step for me.
