                        Greetings,

                        I'm familiar with the 'traditional' methods of window tinting scale models.  At work yesterday I noticed a guy that owns a '06 Dodge Charger with tinted tail lights. I asked how he did it and he said he used VHT Nite Shades...a spray on tint.  I googled it and also found a product from RustOleum called 'Lens tint.'

                        Has anyone used either of these products on a model? If so, what was the result?

                        I haven't used anything like this for models but I have used Tamiya Smoke X-19 on kit chrome to tone it down and give it depth and works great. This is supposed to be used for tinting windows/ glass. It all depends on how dark you want your taillights to be as this stuff is a light tint. I suppose one could add some Tamiya Acrylic Black to the Smoke to darken it though.

                        A trick I have found for tinting scale model windows is to use the solar film used on household windows. The peel type is thin and the correct shade. It can be cut into any size and shape with a hobby knife. Try it.

                        i'm NOT asking for ways to tint scale model windows.....I'm wanting to know if anyone has used the aforementioned products and what were the results. Whistling
