Missing parts?
Posted by Wesleycharlessmith on Monday, May 9, 2016 7:20 PM

Is it normal to have missing parts from a kit. I am new to the hobby and working on my second kit and this one is missing a part too. Both kits are from Revell.

I went to the website so I could email them with my disappointment and see there is an online form for parts order.  Now I am wondering if this is a normal part of the hobby?

No, it's not normal.  If it was, no one would buy the kits and the industry would go belly-up. You'll have to fight it out with the manufacturer.  Good luck!

Glad to hear its not normal. In your humble opinion what is the best manufacturer for kits?

Revell has great customer service. If it is a in production or has recently been in production, you shouldn't have any problems getting parts.

I have been making models for 40 years,I think I only had one part missing in the hundreds of kits I have built  so it is not the norm.Contact Revell.

I've had good luck out of Revell with blemished parts like chrome bumpers so I don't see any problem with them shooting a part your way. I tell them what I want and they send it to me. No questions asked.

I've been building for almost the same amount of time too, and I've only come across a few - maybe three, or four that had parts missing. You Sir are correct.  No - it's NOT the norm! Contact Revell immediately before it's too late. Once they discontinue a model kit it'll be too late to get replacement parts for it.
