Many many thanks. Very kind.
I am actually looking forward to getting back into the aircraft world. More comfortable there.
You should be proud Joe, that is a beautiful model.

Very nice build that paint is awesome with its metallic base coat !
That turned out really good Joe! I'm looking forward to your next trip down the automotive road. I have alot of fun with this stuff and find it hard to go back to building planes.

And she is finished.
All told it turned out much better than the first time I did up this kit.
Next up will be a couple of things that will test me to no end.
All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged.
Guys thank you. I do really appreciate your input and information. For me and this build I am just looking to fill the void as well as play a bit with shiney things. I will however file the information away for the future.
Dbl post Joe...sorry.
Like Lee said it all looks really good so far and he has a point with the plug wires. I use colored wire from Lex's Scale Modeling for the wires as I can shape them any way I want without risking peeling the paint off and this stuff is available in all kinds of colors.
Looks good Joe, one suggestion, spark plug wires do not come out from the distributor like a daddy long legs, their own weight will cause droop. They should come off the distributor, and then run them along the valve covers to each spark plug. Here is a pic of a 66 Mustang engine. I dont mean it as a criticizm, just want to help you make it as realistic as possible.
We have a rolling chassis. The engine is now installed as well.
Next is to mate the body to the chassis.
When I do have time it seems I have very little enthusiasm lately. Not sure what is going on.
Man do I ever get that one Joe! I post when I'm able alot of times as well especially now after my wife's recovery. I don't always have the time I used to -to post as well as to build like I used to. It's all good , just a priority shift.
I have had very little progress and even less time to post it. I hope to have an update posted soon though.
Progress?
Many thanks. No spaghetti, .010 rod that is painted yellow to give the engine some contrasting colors.
Looks good, but what is with the spaghetti?
Well after a bit of a lengthy break I am back.
Work continues on the Mustang with engine work, chassis work, and work on the interior. Trying my hand at wiring the engine again. Hope it works better than the last time.
Next up is to finish with the plug wires and assorted wires and cables.
Til the next time.
Many thanks my friend.
A small update.
The under parts and the interior tub get some paint and a bit of drybrushing. Semi Gloss Black, Model Master Metalizer Stainless Steel, and then Testors Flat Aluminium.
Next will be detail work on the under parts and such.
This is really looking great Joe.
Great picture and will help a great deal. Thank you.
I found this pic just this morning for a paint shine reference. I posted it in your thread at "the other site" as well.
mustang1989 How shiny is the real thing?
How shiny is the real thing?
To be honest, I really do not know.
Many many thanks.
Not sure if I am going to go for more shine to be honest. I do have the sanding pads as well as the Novus to finish it off but not sure yet.
its like painting on top of chrome gives it that metal look .match box had nothing like that in its day untill 1968
