Well;

Hopefully , I will have learned to post photos by then . I just want it stock in the Mustard color Datsun had .That's what color mine was .

Perfectly color correct ? Nope ! I said Mustard and that's what it will be , or , as close as I can get . It looked like Grey Poupon to me , that's for sure !  T.B.

Hi

Oh don't worry some just don't like to comment . I , on the other hand probably should keep quiet more .That said . I like this kit . I do have one , I am back modifying to the stock body .Why ? Well the little car was one of the toughest , most fun to drive cars I've ever owned .

Oh , by the way , I think you did alright with the decals and it is a very nice , well done car . T.B.

Toshi

Continue to build and post!  I normally just stay in the aircraft threads.  For the first time I've ventured out and found your build very inspiring.  Thank you for sharing your art work!

Thanks Don for your feedback, I must see if I can put that into practice on my next build where I have problems with old decals.

Color matching is indeed a difficult task, but the resolution/sharpness of the detail can be helped if you can increase the samples per inch.  I usually sample at 600 sps, but for decals with fine detail I go up to 1200.  When printing on decal paper you can set the printer driver to the highest quality too.

Nice model.  I can remember when those Datsuns were real popular in SCCA racing.

Thanks for all your comments guys. I think the same way as most of you that this is a fun thing, that's why I change paint colours and print my own decals to make things look different and quirky.

Building a model factory fresh is one of my nightmares! Hearing about builders who can't build a kit because they can't find the proper factory coloured paint is to me a no-no!

Lets be more adventurous and arty-crafty than only see things in one dimension!

Hi Pawel, it's nice to see your comments. I wonder sometimes after seeing how many access the thread and don't comment whether it's worth putting them on some sites!

It's worth it and keep posting. I don't usually see these being built and yours looks fantastic Pat.

P.S. That's kind of how I feel about Scale Auto. I just gave completely up over there as it's like a ghost town and I might as well be posting to myself!!

Pat the build looks great.  Spectacular job on the decals

p.s. don’t sweat the colors the rest of us don’t know the difference—OK the rivet counters do, but heck we’re here to have fun eh?

Howdy Pat!

I know that feeling, that's why I commented despite not relly having much to say. Then again, if everybody stops posting it will get awfully boring here! And I like to look at pictures of models, so please keep posting photos of your builds and I'll post mine as soon as I have any presentable progress. Good luck with your builds and have a nice day

Hello!

A nice one! I believe re-drawing the decals is the best solution most of the time, although getting the colours right is not an easy task! Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

I built this box stock, but had to renovate the decals as the paper they were on had turned to card. I scanned these to the pc and re-printed them a few times adjusting the colour and brightness, although they are still not exactly right. The smaller decals were too difficult to bringback into focus. I also added two of a few new home-brewed decals I'm trying to perfect. In this case both are on the front wing, one has a painted hand and on the other a coloured paint run.
