Show your Revell/Monogram builds-Auto Edition
Posted by mustang1989 on Monday, January 9, 2017 2:13 PM

Ok guys.....there's a thread like this in the Aircraft section and I find myself wanting to post my Revell/ Monogram auto builds into it but......it's in the aircraft section. So I thought I'd start one over here so everybody could post anything auto related Revell or Monogram wise into it.

I'll start with my 33 year old Monogram 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A that I rebuilt in 2014:

Another "Beer Wagon," also modified for 'local' flavor:

And my all-time favorite, "Rommel's Rod":

I love the old Monogram show-cars....

Thanks guys, I try my best, and being retired I'm at it all the time, modelling that is!

The splinter camo on the '49 Mercury I paint on with rattle can paints. Which is the other one you've made the comment on, grey w/modex Greg?

Yes Greg it's another Mercury, but the original paint went really bad, attacking the surface of the plastic, so I changed it's appearance by spraying it Tamiya NATO Green and adding 1/48 aircraft decals.

I've never built a car model but the 70 Superbird looks to cool. Might just have to take the plunge!  Everyone's kits look awesome! Great job.

...and more stock cars. My dad built these, all Tide rides. The 17 is the aero Monte Carlo driven by Darrell Waltrip. He got him to sign it at a promoton at a dealership in Jackson, TN in the late 80's. It's kinda funny, he saw him at the dealer, walked up and asked him if he would sign it. Darrell gave him a funny look, then said yeah, he would. Pops drove home, then back to the dealership and he signed it. Never had to wait. Less than ten years later, Ernie Irvan came to town. Three hour wait, and people still didn't see him. Amazing how that sport had grown. Last two are Ricky Rudd's rides.
