Man that's looking sharp ML! I love it! About the only thing I'd work on is some subtle weathering on the bottom of the car but it's certainly not a deal breaker.

Yeah went with a clean build this time, maybe next time I’ll go for the raced look. Thanks for the kind words.

OK, you asked for it, biggest glaring problem I see with this build, it's not a Ford! LOL

Seriously, I've always liked Monte Carlos, and you did a fantastic job on this one!

Thats a really nice build. Having just finished an old AMT kit, I have no idea how you put something so beautiful together. Did that kit suffer from the old mould flash and ejector pin issues? If so, you are a patient man - really nice. Makes me want to try harder with the old kits.

Thanks.. actually to my surprise the flashing and injector pin marks weren’t that bad. The trunk lid had dimples from the alignment pins underneath but that was easily fixed with some filler. My biggest gripe was with the fit and scale of the interior roll cage. It was about a 1/4” short of the roof. I raised it some but still not enough.

Excellent build. I've always been a fan of the Alabama Gang. I remember seeing the Coca Cola Monte Carlo at Daytona way back when.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Thanks, the net I made myself out of drywall tape and Tamiya masking tape on the borders then painted. The drywall tape has a close look to the old style rope nets.

I’ve finally finished. Overall I’m pretty happy how it turned out. If I could go back I would have fitted the upper roll cage under the roof better. It’s about an 1/8” too short but you get what you get with these AMT kits, next time I’ll know.

Also after seeing another post about the split air cleaner, I know what I have isn’t correct but I can live with it. Hope you enjoy and please critique away. (Only way I’ll learn anything for the future)

Started this about a 2 months ago and wanted to gets photos posted before now but just never got around to it. I only get a few hours on the weekends to work on it so that’s why is slow going. Everyone who has build the old AMT kits knows certain areas leave a little to be desired. Some areas have decent detail where others have none. Fit is also not the best but overall it’s not too bad to build. I will be using PPP tires and wheels because the kits are just too skinny looking and the wheels are way too deep. Hopefully next week I can start on the body. Hope you enjoy!
