Dodge Deora Resto

This was one of my favorite Hotweels cars (behind the 'Jack Rabbit Special' and the rescue truck from the TV show 'Emergency'). I still have several Deoras as well as this reissued kit (unbuilt).

I like the bright red camper cover. If I ever get to building mine, I'd do it with the flat cover with surf boards like the Hotwheels car.

 I forgot to mention that the slant six in the thing had more chrome on it that my whole Studebaker Black - Hawk from 1957 !

 The Dodge " Deora " made the rounds of the Custom car shows for some time back in the sixties . I think it was an Alexander Brothers creation .

 The base was the same van as the Wheel-Stander drag  van , It being based on a standard A-100 Dodge Van . . The windshield frame ( for a little history here ) was taken from a 1960 Ford full sized " Station Wagon ."

Thanks Greg. The alloy panels were a home brewed decal. I found the image on Google/Pinterest and copied onto decal paper.

Can you tell me about the brushed aluminum panels on the original cover? I am fascinated by them.

What a strange and interesting vehicle!  I don't believe I've ever seen one before.  Thank you for posting the photos of  your nicely built model!

Very nice job on resurecting that "oldie but goodie". I have one burried deep in the stash. Guess I'll have to dig it out. You've given me a few ideas for it.
