Cheers Greg.
Remember , common sense is not common.
That's a neat little racer. I like it!
Thanks mustang1989. Well although the Ace was built in the country, that was the base of the Cobra. We don't see the Cobra here, only kit built replica's.
Man that's a good lookin' Cobra Pat. Doncha hate it when the instructions point you in a wrong direction? Had it happen with a Corsair build that I did a couple of years ago with the decals. Had to redo the paint to correct that one but it was a stupid mistake that I should've caught in my case.

Thanks foftofrank.
Ah HHScale, on this one the steering is fully workable with the wheels turning as well. I look forward to seeing your Revell version.
Great build, Pat. Your build brings back great racing memories. Back in the day, I'd go to SCCA events at Mid America Raceway, in Wentzville, MO. On one or two occasions I did see a Cobra there. Sure do miss the sound of that 5.0 liter V-8 as the car worked the esses. Well done.
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
A good-looking model - I am going to start building Revell's version myself soon.
One remark: if the front wheels are fixed in the 'turned' position, it would look better if the steering wheel was turned, too!
Have a nice weekend.
Thanks guys. Yes the instructions show the gear stick in the other direction.
Well done.

This Cobra looks good, except for one little thing...the shifter is backwards! On a 427 equipped Cobra, the shifter was reversed so the knob is facing the instrument panel. The transmission was so long that the shift lever would have been impossible to use in a conventional manner. Shelby came up with the idea of turning the lever so that the bend on the shaft would place the knob in a forward position facing the instrument panel. The picture below shows the correct shifter position.
