Revell 1/25 1950 Oldsmobile 88

What an excellent kit! Tamiya quality with better than Tamiya decals. This version is the 1950 Carrera Pan American Mexican road race winner (amazing story) which is provided as one of the three kit options. I built it OOB and used the same paint materials (other than Scale Finishes base coat Canto Cream instead of lacquer) and techniques I described in my ‘61 Chevy bubble-top posting of yesterday.  This kit is so good, I’m tempted to buy several more to do a dusty weathered post-road race car, the stock car version and one or two street versions with the cool rear skirts. Other than omitting the steering shaft which seems to be my Achilles’ heel in car models, I had absolute zero issues with this kit. Highly recommended!
Cheers,
John

Hi,

Your build looks great.  Smile

PS. I think late 40's early 50s cars look phenominal, and you did a really great job on your build

Very cool! Added to my wish list after your review.  I'd like to do a NASCAR version.

Thanks,

John

Looks great!  My friend Bob Maderich did the same car, same livery.
