So I chopped the wheels and lowered the back of the car. 

I like it. A simple fix for a manufacturing defect.

And if you can find an Alfred Hitchcock figure, just set him in the backseat.

( You can use any "Obese" figure you can find. I just mentioned Alfred because he fit's the time period. )

Ok so there is a reason.

Actually this was the only fit issue On the kit The axel when all glued together and to the chassis is about 2 mm too far forward... so attaching the wheels meant they didn’t align to the arch. 

So I chopped the wheels and lowered the back of the car. 

Mystery solved! And I think it looks a bit sportier lowered like this... 

I love this build of an iconic classic. Your skills are evident here as the kit looks just fantastic.

Nice!  Love those old classics.  Old Monograms are common at flea markets, some Italeri, and even an occasional JoHan.  I have quite a few in my stash, and always enjoy the builds.  All three brands yield pretty nice results.

I "love" the way you built it with some of the window's part way down, Nice touch ! And the color's are "Awesome" !

 What's the mystery here ? What in heavens name is so heavy in the trunk it has those monstrously strong springs sagging like that ? Did you take the safe when you robbed that small town bank LOL.LOL I do like the work though , and also your choice of colors . T.B.
