Thanks guys!  It's been a while since I've done a WIP on this forum, so maybe my next build?  We shall see...

Oh Boy ;

 Mid Life crisis car on your part  ? No , I was stationed in Berlin and needed a vehicle so I brought her home . The funny part . When everyone saw the pedals and steering wheel on the wrong side !

 I guess I bought one destined for England , it just didn't get there . When the running boards rusted away I removed the leftovers , and had a fabricator of truck stuff make new ones out of steel mesh and angle iron .

 See ? couldn't beat it with a stick !  But , I sure do miss it now !

Sorry, TB!  I have never been overseas.  I would love to try the Nurburgring!  We bought a Mazda CX-5 last year!  Great little car, has everything in it, but I do miss my pickup.

Just Basic :

 That was the point . Have you ever wintered in Germany ? Bugs Ruled ! Besides after having the same old Red bug for almost twenty years and it still ran and was weatherproof , What can I say ?  T.B.     P.S-- Besides I only paid  $1,600.00 bucks for it with a Radio and Heater Brand New !

 Try that now ! My  Kia Soul was almost Twenty thou . And it's Not even got a C.D.Player , darned Bluetooth !

Thank you Lon!  It seems that there are a lot of people who like the little Bugs.  Very reliable and not too fast.  Just basic transportation.

Great model!  My mom had a '65 Beetle when I was growing up.  It would go anywhere, even in a Wyoming winter.  My family went to pick it up from the shop in a blizzard one time; I went with my mom while my sisters went with my dad in his Jeep Cherokee Chief.  There was almost nobody else on the road.  We beat my dad home - those narrow tires cut thru the snow and the engine weight on the drive wheels kept it from getting stuck.  Wonderful little car, even if the running boards were all rusted out.

Great build!Toast Had a 1/1 '68 and the only difference was it was black. Looks exactly like it. A great little machine.

Thank you John!  This is a really good kit by Revell.  Everything went where it should and I had a few pieces left over for the European version.  I recommend this kit!

Great looking build Mr Mike!  I want to build one of these - would look cool next to all the race cars :)

Thanks,

Thank you guys!  The idea was to build a model that represented a car bought cheaply by a teenager polished up to look good, but weathered enough to look really used.
