I got inspired to build this after seeing an actual hotrodded Ford pickup rotting away in a neighbor's front yard (this is North Carolina). I took the photo below before the kudzu claims it.
So I found a kit to modify. What a box of horrors. The molds must be as old as the subject - warped parts, abundant flash, poorly fitting parts, the list goes on and on. After a lot of work and scratchbuilding, I have something worth showing. The Lamborghini wheels look right at home on it. They should make truck wheels. The bed has walnut veneer strips in it. I think I captured the possibilities of what a restored hotrod could look like. Anyway, I like it.

Sweet lookin' truck! Those F-1's just don't get the love they deserve, and you sure did a great job with a not so great kit.
Very nice build. I've noticed quite a few reworked trucks while driving around. Think guys are getting a little tired of the same old thing and realizing that those old trucks make great streetrods.

kensar - it's a pity about that 1:1 truck getting wasted like this. But I guess they can't all be saved :-(
Your model looks very nice, congratulations! Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Wow that looks awesome. Really nice job - and I know what you're talking about regarding some of those older Revelle or AMT kits. Great looking truck.
Thanks,
John
Thanks for all your comments, guys. This is the first auto model I built in a couple of years. Glad to see it done.

What engine do they give you in the kit? A flathead V-8? They have a nice flathead V-8 in the 1948 Ford Woody wagon and I would guess they would put that in this kit.
Yes there's a Ford V8 with Ardun heads option
Wow, your engine looks amazing.
