Rommels Rod
Posted by crown r n7 on Thursday, February 14, 2019 2:08 PM

I first built this kit in 1969 for what it is a hot rod 1/2 track. This time Im removing most of the chrome from the engine steering wheel and grill. Im getting back in to the swing of things with an easy kit more painting and weathering, its more of a twight zone build we will see how it goes.

Look forward to this one! I built it a couple of years back and swapped a Tamiya 251 rear end in.

Looking good! Going to have to move it up in line in the stash. Hope I haven't picked anything out of it along the way.

Not sure what happened to my post, but...

I built this kit around 45 years ago, when I was a kid. I liked it then and I love what your doing to it now. Classic model, and you have pulled off a GREAT BUILD.

Have been seeing this kit for years never seen one built wasn't sure what it would look like, but you have done a lovely job on it to show that it will turn into an eyecatcher on any shelf.

Great job so far!  It's a good kit, deserving of the attention you're giving it.

I removed the chrome from the Red Baron hot rod, too.  I wanted to be able to clean up the seams and sprue gates, and it was just easier to do it that way.

If I could offer a suggestion, I would add a drop of clear gloss on Rommel's goggles-Future, for example, or your clear gloss of choice.

Best regards,

Brad

Good thing they still have their hats and boots.  Otherwise this build might violate the boards "no nudity" policy (though in a very extreme way Surprise)
