Thanks Brandon. This was actually the way I bought this car....already built up. But it needed alot of work which is what's going on here. I do have a twist in the mix for it though.

Gregbale: Thanks dude! I had originally bought this to take apart and build differently but then I acquired the unbuilt kit so this has just sat around for a while but now I'm really looking forward to working with this one now that I know it's about half workable.

Greg: Once I found out that there was a Maverick kit available I jumped all over it. They are expensive though.

This should be fun to watch. Do keep us posted.

It's been a loooong time since a Maverick has crossed my thoughts.

Excellent 'kick' to a stalled project.

(And really nice to see a drag car represented! Too few of these on view...myself includedEmbarrassed. I've got about a half-dozen in the stash, should really pull one out and build one of the **** things!)

Look forward to seeing this one spiffed up!

I've had this once completed build hanging around for a while now. I ordered it off of ebay several years ago because I couldn't find an unbuilt Jo-Han Maverick. Just after I received it I found a kit still in the box so this has sat at the back of my bench for the last few years awaiting either disassembly or a fate in the trash can. The more I looked at it, however, the more I saw a salvageable paint job but still lacked any real motivation to tear it apart an shine things up a bit.

First off lets get a photo going of the subject:

and a picture of the body on my bench undergoing a wet sanding an polish up:

I was cruising through Hobby Lobby and found this:

and I thought to myself, "Hey!!! Those tires are PERFECT!!" and I immediately thought of the Maverick.

It shouldn't take too long to shine up and put a set of good looking slicks and skinnies under it on some slot , period correct, wheels.

BTW....progress is STILL going on with the Arado build. This is merely a progress filler to keep me from stagnating while I'm on long term projects such as the Arado and the Malibu. More coming...………..
