Bakster

Nice work. My uncle had a Vespa and rode it to work. That was near 50 years ago. When my Uncle wasn't looking, my cousin commandeered it to buzz around the neighborhood. My cousin was a brave sort because if caught, he'd get a good beating by my beady eyed uncle.

Ah... the memories.

Thanks for sharing your build. Cool.

Great story. Thanks.

Very nice!

I have that kit in my stash.   I picked it up at the flea market at HIDS a couple of years ago.  It had been started, and had a really crappy paint job.  I will have to strip it and refinish.  I hate that messy job, but I guess I should just bite the bullet and complete it.  I need something like this thread to get it into the bench queue.

That looks really nice. Its a very old Vespa design with the fixed engine covers and no foot brake. Came out great.

I thought it was a little newer but now I know. Thanks.

Actually, i think you might be right. I used to be a Scooter Boy back in the 80's, had a few Vespa's. The lack of the foot brake got me thinking this was older. But checking the website, i think its the 2014 model. Shows how they have changed since i last rode one.

Thanks for this clarification.

This is a low budget die-cast production vespa. I have forgotten the scale of this but I am guessing a 1/18 scale. I screwed off the Vespa in 3-4 parts, so it would be easier to paint, weather and gain access to certain areas. The speedometer was a just a stick-on. So I made a glass, with cracks in it and glued it in place. This made a huge difference, lifting the model to a degree. I left the tyres and rims relatively clean, to show that it was newly bought as the first stage of a renovation project.
