Testors 1:24 C1 1957 Corvette

So with my wife working alot of 2nd shift lately there's Been lots of modeling time for me! This one is an Out of the Box snap together kit that I did custom paint on. Just looking for a relaxing build and something quick to offset the last 2 builds that were 5-6 month efforts.

Won this at a IPMS Model Show auction. May just be worth my ticket price with the custom paint. Very surprising.

I think this one shows the metal flake best. I'm using Model Car World acrylic lacquers. This is their pearl clear.

A nice deep black!

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Good job, is the Testors kit someone else's model in their box?

Mongoose,

Nice job!

Rob,

It's a Burago diecast in kit form.  From the looks of it, not a bad kit.

according to Scalemates it's an original Testors model from 1993. The body in white is ugly out of the box. Paint doesn't get down in the panel lines and ends up looking like gray panel line washon a white body. Cleaned up nice though. Some sanding of metal seam lines was all the extra effort required.

Mongoose,

Outside of some very old Hawk aircraft and 1/32 Salt Flats racers (there may be others, but not many), Terstors is almost exclusively a reboxer of other companies kits. In this case, it is the Burago 1/24 diecast.

Nice and clean with a great paint job. Black is the worst color to make a car look good. It shows all the imperfections. Doesn't look like there is any on that car. Toast

lewbud we must have been typing about the same time lol - that's a fun fact! I googled them and found a plethora of diecasts for sale. $12 will get me the original made in Italy.

Wow, that snap kit came out great. Love the pearl paint. I too have problems getting the metallic paint to show good under lights with photographed. I've found that shoot them outside in the full sun really makes the paint pop. Now I only take my pics of my completed cars in the sun; they look more alive that way. Excellent work on the C1.
