Thanks Ranger.  Id like to get one of these in 1:1 scale.  Do a bit of drag racing as well.  700rwhp 09 Charger at Barona 1/8 mile

Thanks,

Love it. Those were the later days of the "factory race cars". The manufacturers had to produce so many in order for them to be "stock" cars for both NHRA and NASCAR. The first MOPAR I remember was a 1962 dodge or Plymouth with a 426 HEMI with 2 4bbl carbs and I remember a Ford Galaxly 500 with a 426 and 2 4bbl carbs and a 4 speed manual trans. These were limited production cars and very rare today. A 1969 co-po Camero with an all aluminum 427 was only produced in a small number of about 50.

Sadly these cars were mostly beat to death and few exsist today. Great memories for an old drag racer (1969 SS AMX). Great looking model, thanks.

I put down a pretty heavy coat of future and it helped a bit.  Ah well - powering on with this one, thanks for the offer mustang.  Had a couple other mistakes as well.   Closing in on the finish.  I'll most likely do another one of these kits.  Goes together nice and you get quite a lot of spare parts, including an entire 440 magnum along with the 426, stock wheels, interior - tons of stuff.

Thanks,

John

I missed the paint coat. Nice color, sorry you had trouble with it. I can't see the problem on this laptop monitor.

Hey John. Post another couple of pictures on that paint job you've got so I can see all of what you're working with. From the angle I'm looking at it looks like a nice wet sanding will take care of what I'm seeing. I've got a spare set of cals if you wanna give 'er a go.

So... the paint turned out terrible but I'm pressing on.  Started decaling and getting it all together.  It looks like a Dart!

Thanks,

John

Ha, never seen that one.  I love it.  I have a 760rwhp hemi in the garage and that nails it!

My first 'baby' way back when was a Plum Crazy '71 'Cuda with a 426. That throaty rumble never leaves your soul....Big Smile

Looking good, John.

One of these days, you guys will have to walk me through detailing an engine. Something I always wanted to do since I was a kid and never tried.

Y'all sure make them look convincing.

That Hemi looks like the "bee's knees" John. Awesome work on that and love the routing and natural "lay" that the ignition wires have. Good stuff man.Yes

Bit more work on the 426.  Each motor I'm wiring a bit more.  This one is wired to the coil as well as plugs.  Baby steps.  Also did a pin wash on this one so she's a bit dirty.  Need another coat of white on the oil filter but getting there.

Thanks,

John

Good progress on that A990 John! The natural "lay" of those wires looks spot on.

This is a bad ass kit. I've got two of these in the stash and simply can't wait to get one on the bench. I've got a couple of different decal options for it too. Very nicely detailed out kit and these build up great. Watching bro......

I have this kit as well. I have a candy orange on the shelf slotted just for this ride. I will be looking forward to watching you build yours.

Starting this one.  Revell kit with a lot of options - but of course I'm going for the AF/X factory drag car version.  Cut out the wheel wells and mocked up because I had to!  I plan on adding a bit of wiring to the engine otherwise box stock.  Color will be testors GoMango - cause it looks so good

Thanks,

John
