Braided hoses for motorcycle
Posted by Foxy on Thursday, November 12, 2020 5:01 PM

Has anyone replaced the standard tubing on a 1/12 motorcycle build with braided hoses?... If so what size/diameter?.. I bought a tamiya braided hose pack which was 2mm outer diameter with 0.8mm internal diameter but it looks way to thick to be in scale.. Thanks in advance

There is an electrical cable that does a good job of simulating braided hose.  It is used for microphone shielded leads.  Comes in a few sizes.  Smallest size even works on 1:24 scale.  Small coax might even work for 1:12.   Both are a little hard to find, only available from large electronics venders.

Not sure what the right diameter is for your application but check out Top Studio.  They do amazing detail sets for cars/bikes.

Here's a link to some braided lines down to .6mm

Thank you for this I checked them out and from what I can gather you can't buy from them directly... And they only have 2 UK stickisys and they are all sold out... I will keep my eye on it.. Thanks again..
