Edit: Sorry guys, it has been a long time that I posted on this post, because I was busy, and I forgot about it Embarrassed

Hi. My dad bought this kit 2 years ago ish. I began working on the engine last year, but have not had any progress for a year due to Covid 19. It wasn't until around 2-3 weeks ago I started to commence my model. I had to finish a paper model of a 757, which I done 2 months ago, but is already finished.

The 1996 Corvette is the last year and model of its generation (the C4). Chevrolet decided to make a special edition to mark the last year of the C4 Corvette. They came out with the 1996 Chevrolet Corvette Collector's Edition. They were painted with Sebring Silver. Photo of actual car:

I do not know what Tamiya paint to buy for the specific color of the body, so I just came and bought Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf:

So far, I have done the engine, and I just painted the chassis. Hopefully I could assemble the chassis tomorrow after curing, then work on the body. Anyway, here are some photos of my progress.

The engine is an LT1 V8 engine. I only did a little research on the engine, just finding some reference photos of the actual engine, such as this one.

As of today, I have finished the chassis, the interior, and the body. I am still waiting for my polishing compound from Tamiya arrive.

Here is the chassis:

It honestly looks good. I would also like to show you the interior. Unfortunately, the clear coat looks too glossy, even though it's semi gloss. I would have to add maybe a ratio of Semi Gloss to Matte; 5:2. But, I liked how I added some small details for the buttons, which make the interior pop up. I did not add flocking because I do not think it is necessary.

And now, the body. If you have seen my other posts recently, I have been having problems with the paint finish:

Fortunately, I sanded everything down, and added a light coat of silver, and the result looks like new. I also added some TS-13 Clear, and it looks very glossy, and it is pretty beautiful for me to look at.

Now, I have some problems too. There is a moderate amount of dust in my model that has dried with the clear coat. It sticks out like a white horse in a field of black horses. The orange peel is there too.

I plan to sand everything down from 4000-12000 grit, and polish it with Tamiya's polishing compound, which I am still waiting to arrive to my house, hopefully tomorrow. I would plan to be done with this model in hopefully 1 week from now. It looks fabulous.
