I love the Transam. I always wanted one.
Beautiful model!
Please please tell us what brand and color of paint you used on this!
That is a beauty, well done.

Hopefully Revell will release a 75.
I hope they do also. I would deffinately get one.
Shuuuweeeet!! I've seen this kit on the shelves a few times at HL. I'd really like to do one of these older TA's but will most likely build it in 1/25 scale.
Beautiful rendition of this beauty of a car.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
Great job. I owned a 75 TA years ago and the detailing you did is perfect. I like it.
Wow that looks great. I'd swear it was the real thing!
Thanks,
John
Bit of an oddity this one. The box says its a Turbo Firebird. The instruction say its a Trans Am. Comes with a non turbo hood and engine, yet has Turbo wheels. Also has a hardtop roof so not sure if that was a Trans am or Firebird thing. It HAD lake pipes as well. So, I cut off the lake pipes, found some snowflake 78 TA wheels so it is now a definate non turbo 79. However the decals were crap. The moment they left the paper to be applied they shrivelled and curled up like some had applied a heat gun to them. Never had that happen. So I used a few 78 TA decals I had left, hence why theres no decals on the front wings and boot lid. I scratch built some tail pipes as well. I find it weird that Monogram totally missed out doing a proper 79- 80 TA kit when they had done the 78 and 81 turbo. Anyway, quite pleased with it. Its a replica of the big 1/8 one I built as a kid.1979 Pontiac Trans Am.(monogram snap kit) by Modelmadness, on Flickr1979 Pontiac Trans Am.(monogram snap kit) by Modelmadness, on Flickr1979 Pontiac Trans Am.(monogram snap kit) by Modelmadness, on Flickr
