Hi Mike!
Those taillights look okay! That type has got to be the hardest to paint. very nice overall.
Good job on the paint.
small voice in my head- "at this rate the build will last longer than the show did"
Steve
Building the perfect model---just not quite yet
Got a feeling that this is going to be one great build. Good work Mike!

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
A litttle time spent on the Stumptown Mustang this morning. I "weathered" the body with Model Master Camoflage Gray and my Badger 150 airbrush. Now to finish this!
Dex Parios will return...
Thanks Joe! I seem to have the patience for some small things, but not others.
Comin' along nicely on this one Mike. Nice work on those tail lights dude.

Thanks Steve! Just one of those things that I had noticed!
Ahh now we're talkin'
I kept looking at the taillights wondering what was missing and they needed backup lights! Out came my jar of Tamiya XF-2 Flat White paint and a thin brush and now I have backup lights!
It has been over 2 1/2 weeks since I paid any attention to the Stumptown Mustang GT. I applied the Tamiya X-27 Clear Red over the Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver and after it had set up for a few minutes, I used an alcohol swab on the taillights and removed the extra Clear Red. Worked pretty good!
It took me a couple of tries at this and it was a while to do. I painted the taillights with Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver paint. It may take me a while to do with Tamiya X-27 Clear Red.
I have been looking at the headlights for Dex's Mustang GT and I started wondering about how to go about painting them. I do want them to look realistic, but I couldn't remember where I saw the painting guide. With necessity being the mother of invention, I started by painting the directionals and the fog lights with Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange. This morning I was looking at the headlights and I thought that maybe some Tru-Color TCP-013 Aluminium paint would take away all of that chrome and I thought that it looked pretty good. Then I dry-brushed some Aluminium paint over the fog lights to dull the Clear Orange and I liked that as well.
Thanks Joe! Most of thse issues have been corrected. I'm surprised that the some of the fender cladding lined up and not surprised that some did not. This is still a compromised kit!
Stance is looking great Mike. Looks like you did a bang up job on correcting all the issues associated with it.
Thanks Tom! If you can find it, yes by all means, watch it! I love an good PI TV series, but due to the Pandemic, ABC cancelled the series and they would shop the series to a streaming service or network. I don't think that happened.
Great progress on the Mustang! I never heard of this show until your build and now I want to watch it on a streaming service.

Thanks Jim! Next is a layer of "dirt" as Dex Parios' car was not "clean".
Continuing to do a great job on the build Mike.
Having ignored the Stumptown Mustang GT for a while, I decided to do a mockup to see how the wheels and tires would look like. Not bad!
Nice Save!!
Did you know that the pilot for the show was shot mostly in Vancouver, B.C. with some scenes being shot in Portland, OR? The show was to be filmed in Los Angeles, CA and then it was canceled due to the Covid Pandemic. The show was supposed to be shopped around to other networks or steaming services, but I don't think that happened.
Don’t worry about the air box. It is a little known fact that in the outskirts of Portland Oregon, There is a Special Vehicle Emissions District part of the Oregon Air Facilities. So, OAF rated cars can run the smaller, less expensive “Air Box No. Dux”. See? You were right all along.
I made my air box from scratch. It's a little bit short, but it's not too bad!
I added the air intake tube and it didn't fit. I trimmed the airbox and I tried to make it fit and I eventually removed it. I will have to make one from scratch. I added an ignition coil and mounted it on the shock tower.
Paint was flyin" this afternoon! I primed and painted the hood and body of the Mustang GT with Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red. When dried, I will "dirty" the finish.
DUSTER Good Job. an dont forget to dry behind the ears

Thanks for the "heads up" Steve!
The Mustang GT got a bath this afternoon in prep for primer and paint.
It was pointed out to me elsewhere that the wheel depth was too far in and I had noticed it before and it bothered me. Since I was originally concerned with the stance of the model, wheel depth was next. I had only pushed the wheels on with no glue and now I can control the depth by pushing the wheels out to the edge of the wheelwells. Here is my Stumptown Mustang GT and my Spenser For Hire Mustang GT. My Spenser For Hire Mustang GT was built with the kit wheels and tires.
