Revell Porsche 914-6
Posted by PatW on Thursday, September 22, 2022 4:08 AM

Having  built a few of these over decades, and having one on the shelf, following my Porsche build series recently. I added a scratchbuilt  rollcage and alloy exhaust pipes. I've canted the kit number decals at 45 degrees on the bonnet and engine lid, just to be different.

Having had problems previously with fitting the engine lid I added it before the body chassis connection.

A couple of previous ones, built leaving out various chassis, axle parts due to difficult builds of this kit.

And a rat rod, barn find, daily driver..

Very nice builds.  I've always liked the look of the 914.

Fun stuff Pat.  I test drove a 914 when I was 19 or so but couldn't get financing - probably a good thing.

Thanks,

John

Thanks guys. Yes John I did a similar thing but after I was married with two son's and again just couldn't afford one already having a family car. Perfect balance with the mid-engine. I've recently track tested a GT3 911 on a private circuit! All stripped out with a carbonfibre seat and rollcage! But still can't afford one without selling the house!

Thanks mustang1989. You might be able to see the carbs from this picture, I didn't take a photo of the engine, gearbox unit after I'd built it!
