Christmas party score
Posted by wpwar11 on Friday, December 16, 2022 4:50 PM

 My club has a Christmas party with white elephant Christmas swap.  Last night about 30 of us met and had a great time stealing kits.  When the dust settled I came away with this Tamiya Ford GT kit.  This has been on my wishlist so I was thrilled to claim it.

Going to one in a few hours.  We used to get a mix of junk and good new stuff.  The three clubs I am in have come to an agreement- only bring gifts you would like to build yourself.

Ford GT is an all-time favorite of mine. I'll bet that Tamiya kit is going to be great!

On a side note, just the other day I stumbled across an article somewhere about an alleged street-legal one that was reported to have reached some insane speed. Just over 300 mph, I think.

Missileman2000;

     That sounds like the two clubs I belong too. If you aint gonna ever build one then don't bring it for Dirty Brickster(The Clubs build all LEGO related stuff)!!

This is my third year in the club and the quality of the kits have been great every year.  By tradition, one kit is always a clunker.  Last year it was a rickshaw kit and some poor slob got stuck with a hotdog cart model this year.  I remember several 1/32 kits this year  a F16, ME262, a spit, and a Phantom.  We have the party at a game store that has a bistro.  The food is terrific and they have a bar.  The Christmas party is always fun but when you add craft beer it's just a little better.
BTW, our club is hosting our first show Oct 2023.  Paxcon is Hollywood, Md. If your in the area come check us out.
Enjoy the holidays and stay safe.

There is a video around somewhere of a modified 2006 GT hitting a tick over 300 mph in a standing mile run.  Most impressive, the car was over 240 mph at 1/2 way.  Even in sport mode, you need a calendar to time my Hyundai 0-60 mph.

Yesterday at the RPM party I managed to wrangle a Tamiya F50 Ferrari!

Sweet!   Congradulations!  It's one of the great super cars.  I've seen your work Missle and I know you'll build up a gem.
