Thanks Heath, I checked out the site but, nothing on the 56 Ford or even the 71 Mustang!! Oh well, I'll keep looking!! I am appalled by the shoddy work AMT/ERTL did on these models! There's no call for such Crappy dettail!! I worked in a plastic factory some yrs. ago ( making fake finger nails) doing injection moulds. We never let shoddy work reach the packing tables!! I heard AMT/ERTL is changing hands... Be great if they do!
I normally work on aircraft (USN jets) models & had a Fujimi A-6-A ( 1:72 kit) that had warped wings. I contacted the company & they replaced the kit Free o' charge!!

Hey Eddie, I know exactly how you feel. I am building an AMT 1957 Corvette Gasseer that my mom's husband gave to me for christmas.......it is complete crap. I have been working on the chassis trying to straighten it out for a week. What the hell is up with the spots of plastic in odd places? It's like they didn't mold it right the first time, and tried it again a few more times......and the molds are so beat up. I glued on my front and rear pans on the body last night and went holy Censored [censored]!! The gaps are ridiculous. The pans don't even line up at all, at any point! And the emblems are all molded half-assed, so I sanded em off. I'm with you on giving up with this company.....as soon as I take care of this piece.....

BTW a quote from the kit instructions: "We take great pride in providing the FINEST model kits available, giving strong attention to detail and craftsmanship" LMFAO good one!!

Try this link: http://www.detailmaster.com
when you go to the shopping page, it will do a search through around 15 different aftermarket companies. I found some PE kits for the Corvette I am doing now, and some resin stuff, so you shouldn't have any problem. Let me know if you find what you are lookin for!!! Good luck!!

I have the AMT/ERTL '56 Victoria sitting 1/2 done due to the WRONG dash for it!! (not wide enough) Any ideas on AM dash? I'm beginning to totally dislike AMT/ERTL, I've had nothing but problems with their kits (POOR mould casting, flash, etc) I have a 71 Mustang ( 1/25 too) which I need mirrors for. Once the Mustang's done, I'm givin' up on AMT/ERTL all together. I'll stick to Revell should I build any more cars.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Eddie
