Hmm, well I've got the decals laid on the headrests if that's what you mean. The rest of the seats are a SG Black.

CFR,
Thanks!

After airbrushing the covers red, I drybrushed SG black on. First attempt too. The decals didnt work out too well... LOL.

A Long overdue update:

Made quite a bit of progress over the last week. I'd say I've got around another day's worth of work, and it'll be complete. A bit of paint touch up is required on the chassis, and the SG black needs to be done on the cowl in front of the windshield, and the windshield needs the black shot on it as well.

Once the clear on the body and hood is cured, I'll be use some compound to smooth it out and then paint the black inside the body. Then the interior detail bits go on. Detail painting of the body's exterior parts and lense attachment will follow.

Then I'm done. This will officially mark the third kit I've ever finished in my life. The first two being built when I was 4 and 6 years old. Talk about a hiatus... 20 years. LOL.

I'll get a few pics uploaded in a bit.

Undershot of the chassis:

Detail shot of a front caliper and rotor. Rotor is painted with Alclad Aluminum and caliper is SG black w/white drybrushing on the "Corvette" lettering, both sides.

An overview of the chassis and interor tub

Completed engine bay

Interior detail shot. Note the shift pattern on the shift knob. A white pencil was used to accomplish the detailing. Red pencil was used in specific areas, but it's unlikely to ever be seen by anyone observing the model, much like many details I've done to it (alclad aluminum radiator core, etc)

The wheels. I think I got these right, it's SG Black topped with, once again, Alclad Aluminum

I built Revel's race version of the C5... I gotta say that was one of the best kits i'd made. Quite different from the one you have, but yours looks really good so far. I like the C5.

Sweet build so far. Sorry to hear about the garbage disposal incident. I've had a few things disappear down there also. Keep up the good work . Shane

Nah, they're all I have. Some joker put them on a '94 Camaro I purchased used a few years back. I got rid of the Camaro for a Buick Regal GS (Yay for the supercharged 3800 Series II!) over a year ago and still have these wheels lying around. Oh well, thanks for responding. I'll probably have to throw them out, they're taking up too much space!

That is pretty sweet! Is it in 1/24th?

BTW - CM ... Got some good wheels now, but thanks for the offer. Are you parting out the car, because I may be interested in some other parts.

It's a stock C5 Z06 by Revell. I'm just changing around a few things to make it suit my taste. As for the C6, check out the scale auto forum at this link, this guy's build is totally HOT!

nice, did that start off as a Z06 or are you modifying it to be an LS1? (for example does it have the Z06 rims, brakes, and emblems?)

has anyone made a C6 corvette kit yet? Z06 or not. I have particularly loved all the corvettes with the somewhat exception of the C5 gen. it was good; but I felt it wasnt... I donno. C6 brought back my love. I guess I just couldnt appreciate the popup headlights finally on the C5. and the C6 body color lights really remind me of ferrari(sex).

but your engines looking really nice. like the corvette lettering on the valve covers. looks very smooth.

Heh, I have a set of wheels for the 1:1 '84 Vette I'm trying to sell. Let me know if you know of anyone wants some for cheap with practically new tread on it. Big Smile [:D]

Looks like it's coming along nicely for such a rocky start. I have an '84 Vette, so I'm a nut for all the years and ZO6 is one notch under holy grail of ZR1 ... but could probably beat that in an even contest.

Make sure and show us how it turns out ... looks like you have it right on track now.

Thanks for the kind words Niclas. Family always comes first in my mind, so you won't get any criticism from me regarding that! However, every man does need to enjoy his hobby every once in a while... Big Smile [:D]

I've got my Millenium Yellow paint mixed up and my airbrush is clean and ready, now I have to take the leap and paint the body. Let's hope I get this right! Wink [;)]

So, if no one else you'll have to stick with me Big Smile [:D]
Looking really good in my opinion, by the sounds of it it's a really nice kit too.
At my "workshop" things are a bit slow at the moment as we just had our baby girl. But I'll be getting there this night if I have anything to say about it.

Keep up the pace and you have one nice Vette on the shelf in no time.

Yes we care!
But things seems to be a bit slow here at the car forum for the moment. I think people are off on their vacations. So am I, but stil hasn't gone away.
Looking good btw. Keep posting the progress and let's see it finishe soon.

It's being built pretty much out of the box, but with a few changes. The chrome on the wheels has been stripped so I can redo them with a simulated black powdercoat on the centers and a chrome lip. I'm using Alclad II for the aluminum/chrome work on this car. I used it for the aluminum block of the LS6, and it turned out real well. Let's see how the wheels turn out, I'm still debating on how to mask things off to make it work.

Have to repaint the covers on the engine, and finish painting the seats before I can install them. Not many things have been glued in place, so don't think it's near completion. The body's been through hell, it was almost done and then the clear coat bubbled up on me so I had to strip the finish. Stripping the finish made the mirror on the driver's side brittle, and it fell off the body and landed in the garbage disposal... never to be seen again.

I went out the other day and bought a second kit at Hobby Lobby, since they're having a 50% off sale on all model kits it only cost me $7. Now I can try again on the body and keep the old one for practice.

Maybe I might actually finish this one? Oh well, here's a few pics:
