Tiger Scheme GTO

Saw some old GTO ads w/tigers in them and came up with this. Second time making a pattern mask and fiddling w/the airbrush my wife got me. I was hoping to get a softer edge on the stripes, but I held the mask too close to the body.

In the "Here's your sign" segment, I went to clearcoat it and another car body yesterday. The other car went on fine, but when you pick up the flat white instead of the gloss clear to overcoat it, you tend to loose some of the detailBanged Head [banghead]Boohoo [BH]Censored [censored]Dunce [D)]Oops [oops]Sigh [sigh]Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid], sorry, ran out of smilies.

Doh!

OUCH!!! There was a 66 or 67 (maybe both) that raced back then that did very well, and was painted in tiger stripes. I think Revell did a model of the Goat (GTOs were often referred to as goats) That 389CID with tri-power (3 2bbl carbs) was a screamer.

Your goat looks great, as Tony the Tiger would say!

Thanks for the comments. I saw one of the "Scale Auto" magazines with a tiger striped GTO that really looked good; I don't know if it was a model of a real 1:1 or their idea. It had a huge blower sticking up out of the hood!

I did get my problem fixed. I'm glad I started to fix it right away, or it would've ended up in the parts box.
