I imagine that the krylon primer is lacquer, and if done in heavy coats, it will eat up the plastic! From the fingernail polish I have seen, it doesn't really need to be thinned, I mean, its pretty thin to begin with, are you sure you can't just shoot it right from the bottle? You might also try Tamiya's primer, its good stuff!

Does anyone have any experience with using fingernail polish for painting models cars? If so what primer should be used? I'm pretty sure the fingernail polish is pretty hot and it will take lacquer thinner to thin down for airbrush use but I'm unsure about the primer I will need. I checked out the Krylon primer for plastic and all it did was craze the plastic something it's not supposed to do, go figure.
