they did offer that option in 1970. I almost bought a purple six pack car with the flat black hood. But I decided to keep my hemi roadrunner instead.

Thanks to all of you for your answers. I saw those T/A's with the black hoods you mentioned. I didn't realize they had those problems, though. I guess the body color hood with black shaker is the right way to go. Thanks again!

I used to have a '70 with the Shaker hood.  Mine had a color-matched hood (lime-green) with the grey shaker scoop, like this one:

Glenn,

I think the shaker part that sticks through the hood was flat black. The hood itself could be either flat black or the body color. I used to own a 70 TA six pack and the hood on all of them was flat black. The hood and scoop on the TA was all one piece however, and was made of fiberglass. It didn't have any opening mechanism and was held down with the hood pins only. The heat from the engine generally bowed the hood alot! Hope this helps some.

Hi all,

I'm working on an AMT 70 Dodge Challenger R/T, with the shaker hoodscoop. I noticed some other styles of Challengers have a semi to flat black hood, but did this particular model engine/hood combination have that? Ordinarily, I'm not that picky, but I wanted to take it to some shows next spring for the replica stock category and didn't want to make a mistake as to color schemes.

Thanks

Glenn
