I tried and failed on building one of those so you have my full respect for this beauty. Great build and flawless execution.

Mine was eventually put together and painted by my at the time 3½ year old son with a big portion of youth enthusiasm.

It's older than you might think; the Monogram kit was a reissue of the original Aurora kit (I know, because I still have a couple). The Aurora kits were hit and miss due to serious accuracy issues with some of them. They had an Avanti, XKE, Aston Martin, Maserati, Ferrari, GT-40, and Chaparral, to name a few in that series. All had a lot of detail but as I mentioned, some had serious errors. The 904 was one of the better ones, IIRC.

Nice job on an old classic!

Tea strainer, eh? you think that mesh would be fine enough for, say, a grill on a car?

Very well done for a fast target I mean car..!! I have always liked the lines on that particular car..

The goldish tint, is that from the paint or reflection?? Very sharp!!

Flaps up,

The aircleaners are made of sheet styrene with a balsa wood core(colored with a yellow sharpie) then wrapped with wire mesh from a dollar store tea strainer.

Mach1, that looks like a sweet ride! I really like the air filters. The material looks perfect for what I want to accomplish. What is it, where did you get it, and is it expensive?! Thank you!

This car was a real (PITA). It's an old Monogram kit.  This car is definitely a skill level 3, it should be at 5.  It required a lot of test fitting  because of the tolerances.  The main issue is that the frame was 3 mm too short, which had to be corrected in order for the bonnett hinges to operate properly and to get the correct wheel base, but still a very nice kit and pretty well engineered for its age.  Refinished in BASF German Silver; interior and chassis refinshed in PPG lacquers, parts box decals, clear coated in DuPont urethane clear, engine was wired and plumbed,  scratch built 2 air filters and front oil cooler.
