"...a break from the military stuff.."---how come we ahven't seen any of your stuff over in Armor, invertman?!

The engine looks good, by the way.

(I'm a regular armor guy myself, doing a few cars lately too, just for a break)

get Doog to post a couple pics I sent him of the motor. You want to set the carb linkage in similar fashion to what the blue car uses (even though both are automatics). Transmission cases were not painted, and were castiron in 1970. The distributor is mounted in the rear of the motor like a 340" A block. It should be in the front and angled to the passenger side (almost inline with the engine deck.

if you like. i'm finishing up a tamiya jagdpanther in 1/48 scale i

Regarding that photo that squeakie sent me--I'm looking for it--it's in a folder with like, 100 or more photos of engines and details that I have for my model car builds, so I just have to find it!....

Doog, if you can't find it, have him email me and I'll send send him a few to help him with the engine build up. I have some closeups of the carb linkage and distributor that I've got to get in the mail soon.

just a note about the rear end your using. It would be used only on single four barrel engines and automatics. All 440 sticks used a Dana 60 just like hemis four speed cars used.

started working on the interior tonight.

first time i have ever tried simulating wood grain before.

also first time working with the flocking. that stuff is pretty

cool.

It's the only one that comes with the monogram kit, and I thought this was a 340, not a 440

Very nice work with the interior, this should be a real show winner .  Can't wait to see this when finished.  

Oh almost forgot, what color you gonna be painting this masterpiece. 

Great job, invertman. I have a 1970 Buick GSX on the bench and just last night attached the interior and chassis to the body. Now that your woodgrain console looks better than my pitiful attempt with brown acrylic paint, I guess I'll be breaking the seal tonight to try and clear the new bar you've set. Thanks a lot. : )

Well the woodgrain looks really good.  I gave up trying to replicate woodgrain with paint.  I either just paint it brown or open up photoshop with eyecandy 5 textures plugin and make my own woodgrain decals.  Come on by trade I'm a cmp tech/nbetwork engineer, by nature we're lazy like that.  We'd rather spend 6 hours to create something to do a job for us in 30 seconds rather then do the original job which would hjave only taken 45 seconds.

If you want a real foolproof way to do great flocking, I did a tut on it, but I can't remember if I put the tut in one of Doog's threads, or if it was standalone.  Perhaps he can link to it, I put it up primarily for him but so everyone could check it out.  Or if that fails I can link to the original tut done by a really talented kid, which I put on my website with his permission.
