Hey, cool stuff! It's certainly looking promising! Can'wait to see the whole thing done! Can you finish it by Sunday night? Otherwise, I'll have to wait until I return from Germany in mid-July to see it! Sigh [sigh]

It always gives me a real kick to see someone who has taken a technique from one of my tutorials, and traslate it to their own creativity and creation!

Great job here, ronart! Honestly, that weathering looks spot-on!  Make a Toast [#toast]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Looks bloody good for a first attempt. You've got the rust component down and understood.

Doog, there are the inventions of the Laptop and Internet Cafes, you know.

LOL! I nkow, somenewguy, but I'll be in a tiny town called Bad Arolsen, and it's definitely not "touristy"! Besides, I have been warned NOT to use hotel computers, internet cafes, etc, as they can sometimes be used by hackers and thieves to access your information.

the bed on that truck looks like the old El Cameo; is it? Bad part of this is that if it is the beds were fiberglass! I used to have a neighbor that owned two of them!

If I may make one observation???  That appears to be the Cameo pickup.  On the fullsize Cameo's the bed was fiberglass, not steel, so it couldn't rust.  Alot of people odn't know this.  But then I've seen people rust out the body on corvette models, and all corvettes have fiberglass bodies.  I mean it looks great, but if you are going for accuracy you'll have to go for a different look on the bed.

Doog noticed your post.  Touristy towns are the only ones that have wifi access.  Believe me.  Wife comes from a town population 200, and both motels have highspeed access.

Also PLEASE do not use the term hacker in a derogatory sense like that.  A hacker does not equal criminal.  People who make that assumption and spread that around are ignorant bufoons who are just pissed off because they can't figure anything out on their own and must be told how it's done.  AS for stopping people from hijacking your info when broadcasting over wireless it's rather trivial to implement on your end.  If your settings are correct nobody is gonna walk into your computer, and if you ensure sites that you send critial info to are encrypted you're fine.  Once again though please please please don't use the term Hacker like that.  Hackers are not thieves, hackers don't go breaking into computer systems top steal credit card numbers and such.  Real hackers are making killer livings that are nice and legit based upon their knowledge and ability.

this may sound crazy but what would happen if you had a firewall to keep people out!  btw hackers usually are not bad, it's just a select few who give it a bad connotation.  hacking can be anything from breaking open your old mp3 player, to add something to the hardware to make it work or sound better, to building a model and tweaking something, or scratch building.

however i do agree don't use a provided computer, you don't know who else has used it.  or what is on the computer.

despite the fact that i can't set up a firewall myself, i know someone who can.

the rusty truck bed looks great. i will eventually try something like that; but the basics of must  be mastered first!
