A6M2a Zero plans
Posted by david on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 3:04 PM

Hi,

I soon plan to start my first scratch built aircraft, a A6M2a zero,  and  I would like to ask if anyone knows were I can get some fairly detailed blueprints or plans to work of. I will use images of the real aircraft for a lot of details but I need some thing to work of in making the fuselage and wings and so forth.

Thanks in advance.

Go to the library and look at a copy of Model Airplane News.  RCers frequently scratch build, and there is a place, Bob's something, that advertises in that mag for very complete plans and photo packages.  However, those plans are quite expensive- more so than many plastic kits.

There are also a number of books that are anthologies of plans.  Model magazines used to feature scale drawings by one of several masters.  These drawings are old, but new anthologies are frequently republished.

I have looked through all the books I have- drawings by Wylam and Matt, and can find no zero.  Almost all of Matt's drawings are of US mfgs.

Your remaining option are books on that particular aircraft.  Some will have drawings, some not.

BTW, to be clear, I am assuming you want scale drawings- three views showing the finished airplane, not a set of instructions on how to build a model.

Thanks,

Yes I am looking for 3 view plans, not instructions. I did manage to find some rc model plane designs and google images found me a simple 3 view drawing!
