Need help with a technique

I need your help. I am
looking for ideas on how to replicate the ribbed surfaces on a resin Luscombe
that I am working on at the moment.
What follows area few things I've tried and that have not worked very well. So
maybe if you see how to tweak it so it works... or a whole new way to go... I
am all eras.
I have tried gluing short lengths of very thin wire, .006, with a piece of tape
as a stop to get the front line straight. Problem is the CA beads up on the
wire by the time I place it so there are miniscule little blobs of glues at the
edge of the wire. Tried doing the same thing into a scribed grove. Better but
still the same blobs. Different glue? Not wire but something else?
One thing that almost worked was to lay some glue down into the scribed grove
then sort of squeegee off the surface and lay the wire into that. Not too bad
but the CA, slow setting, still sets too fast. Different glue
suggestions?
