I think the kit has gotten a really bad wrap! The FSM article cautions you that installing the wheel spats was very tricky .in my experience, all you have to do is put the model upside down and file the filler blocks to fit,,next I used 2 part 5 minute epoxy to secure the port wheel spat. The longer cure time allows you to make adjustments until the angle is right. The starboard spat was then installed in the same way.The rest of the kit required some filling at the seams but this is sop for older limited run kits and not a deal breaker. The decals were excellent and i think if i can find a williams B 10 it should be a worthy project!

Sorry not to have "said" much.   But I have enjoyed watching your build, and your comments on the kit and its construction have made me feel the kit isn't so bad after all.  So will have to add it back to my "gonna' get one someday list"

 Good Job.

Just about wrapped this one up.I found it to be a good kit that requires some body work.Contrary to the reviews and instructions,I had no difficulty installing the wheel spats. I put the model upside down.filled the mounting blocks to fit and using 2 part epoxy, adjust one spat to the correct angle ,After it cured I installed the other one.The decals were excellent and I look forward to building other williams kits. Thanks to the few (and i mean few)members for their comments. It seems the civil section sure gets short shrift compared to the military aviation section.

I elected to use a .012 high E guitar string for the wires.I put a dab of epoxy at each hole and will use needle nose pliers to tighten the wires once the epoxy cures..

Yes!dont let some of the negative reviews deter you.The kit fits about as well as your average '70s Revell/Monogram release but it is not a real bear.

Painted the cowl striping because the decal sheet does not include it.I did modify the paint scheme slightly because i like it better.

First coat of white.i will have to mask the red accents 'Testor's Guards Red closely matches the decal sheet..

When I was doing curatorial work in Cleveland, I spent everyday around the real one.

I was really impressed with the detail of the interior tub.For an older kit,it is really well done, although a little tricky to assemble.

Oh Killer!  Williams Bros makes some really neat Air racers.  In fact one of my first planes was the Caudron Racer (Didnt survive a move sadly).   Good progress!  Definitely will watch how this turns out!  Best of luck with this cool project!

I agree!I guess younger people do not know about the early air racers!
