1/72 Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer

Here's my completed build of the 1/72 scale Magna Models kit, in resin and white metal, of the Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer, known to its fans as the 'Twin Pin'.

For those of you who don't know the Twin Pin, it's a short take-off and landing (STOL) plane built during the 1950s for civilian and military uses.
The livery used here is of the even more obscure Jersey Ferry Airlines, which started up in 1972 and folded in 1973. They had a Twin Pioneer in their fleet, which operated out of Portsmouth.
I'm no fan of resin kits, in fact I don't like them, but this was a gift from a good friend and so I have been slowly building this since Christmas.
Though the finished model looks OK, I can't say that I'm impressed with the Manga Models kit. The decals in particular were poor quality, and the resin castings were nowhere near as good quality as the other two resin kits I have built so far (one of a Panhard car, and the other of a Cessna 195).
Watching all the various Twin Pioneer videos on You Tube has probably been the highlight of the whole build. It was obviously a remarkable plane.

Man you're a machine. Like a factory, you just keep pumping them out.

Nice job! I am unfamiliar with that aircraft, interesting looking thing isn't it.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

It's not another P-51!

I really like it.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
