Amodel also makes the Acromaster- or is it the Akromaster or Akroduster.  Anyway, I built one and boy is it ever tiny- smaller than most of my 1:144 models!

LS and Amodel do, or did make a 1/72 Pitts Special that fits in the palm of your hand. You can fine some Cessna's in 1/72, although I don't know if they are being produced now.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Revell has reissued the Matchbox DHC Twin Otter. Airfix has a few light military birds that are common civilian converts - DHC Beaver, Grumman Widgeon, Cessa 377 Skymaster. At least one Japanese manufacturer has a series that includes a Bonanza, Cherokee, Skyhawk on floats or wheels.

Monogram made a lot of nice 1/72 stuff like Goshawks and Curtiss Hawks. Not exactly civil, but colorful and fun. There are a lot of WW1 subjects.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Is there a manufacturer of civil light aircraft models in 1/72 scale? I have gray plane burnout.
