Minicraft also do a 1/144 B727. I has a few issues but goes together much better than the Airfix one. Doyusha/Nitto did a 1/100 B727 which is really nicely detailed.

Thank you for your suggestion! While the kit does look very nice and well detailed, it's a little out of my price range, and the 1/72 of a 727 is too big to put anywhere where I would display a model. Thank you again for your input though!

Minicraft in 1/144.

The AirFIX kit deserves its name. If I were a modeling judge, I'd give someone entering one of those in a contest first prize for sheer guts.

I have a Hasegawa 1/200 727 200 kit in my stash. It is unmarked so I purchased some Braniff decals for it. It looks like a good kit, but I haven’t started it yet.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

The very best 200 series was made by Authentic Airliners, all resin in 1/144, but they are not in stock now, only the 1/72 version.

Hey everyone!

I am in search of a good 727-200 model kit. I completed an Airfix 727-200 with a Fedex livery a while back, but the fit on the parts wasn't that great and it just wasn't that great of a build. I would like to do another 727 kit, but make sure that it goes together well, it's a fairly newer kit, and is either in 1/144 scale or 1/125 scale. I want to get it right! I will most likely be building the kit so that it is passenger, not freighter, as the windows were hard to fill in on the Airfix kit for the Fedex livery. Any ideas? I have been looking at either Heller's 1/125 727-200 or one of the Minicraft 1/144 scale 727-200 aircraft. Thanks!
