Decals for airliners?
Posted by B-36Andy on Thursday, June 9, 2016 2:36 PM

I am new to this discussion thread. I would like to build American civil aircraft from the 1940s-50s era.

Are there good sources for decals for airliners of this time period?

I know there are several others, but since Draw Decals is local to me, I use them and have always been satisfied with their decals.

When worst comes to the worst, I have made my own inkjet decals.  Especially for dark decals over a light finish, it is not as hard as many people think.  I can often find images of logos and such with a google image search.  Light colored decals to go over a dark background color are much harder.

Check http://www.airlinercafe.com/ they should have most of what you need.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I've had good results from these guys. I couldn't say about older schemes, these folks mostly bring out sets following new model releases.
