Newbie looking for some help on a missing part in a custom make model, missing the plastic jet fan insert, as shown, if any one can help out with a supplier :

Hi, Chris, not sure what you mean by a custom make model, but can you tell us who made it? Is it a commercial short-run kit, is it a scratchbuild, a kit-bash, or something else?
I ask, because if it's a commercial product, whether from a large maker or a garage kit maker (ie, someone who makes kits, usually in resin, casting in small batches, usually limited), you could try tracking down the maker to see if a replacement part is available.
If it's not commercially made, you might have to try substituting, either with a part from another kit, or maybe even scratchbuilding your own.
If this is a custom model, a scratchbuild or a kit-bash, again, if you know who made it, you could try contacting him. If he can't provide a replacement, he could tell you the donor kit that provided the part.
Scratchbuilding the fan wouldn't be too difficult, even if it's your first time. Just at a quick glance, I'd get some styrene strip (eg, Evergreen) for the blades, and find something to use for the hub. Could be the nearest pointy object you have at hand (eg, an old-style pen cap, like from Bic pens), or you could even sand a piece of sprue to shape. Use a disc of styrene sheet as the backing, and attach the pieces to it.
Beyond that, you might want to check the 3D printing sites, like Shapeways, and see if anyone makes a similar part, or, see if you could contract with someone through the site, to make one.
I don't know if this helps, but this is what comes to mind, considering the problem.
