1/48 Honda Jet by Ebbro

I still like biz planes wtih spinning things.  I still see more of them than bizjets.  And they relate more to me.  Sure, I aspire to a biz jet, but a twin Piper or cheap Cessna twinis more of a possibility.

I Have seen the Kit:

      In my go to Hobby Shop here in San Antonio! It is everything that's been said about it. It and my Lear will be the only BIZ-Jets I have. The others are from an older time where they had the spinning thing on the front of Bumps either on the fuselage or wings!

      Sorry about that, I forgot I posted earlier. Still holds true except Another Brisk and Mortar Shop,( Lionheart Hobbies) just opened has it too and I don't have to drive as far!

Well, I don't know exactly. We only have 1 remaining hobby shop here in Jax Florida; and they specialize in RC hobby - only a limited amount of scale models.  Perhaps, we don't have the number of model hobbiests to support one as you do.  It's not reasonable to make a sweeping assumption that we have a "situation" here.  Every city is different and has different demographics.  Well, I am thrilled that you have two SMALL hobby shops that carry that kit.  Bravo.  

I don't understand;

 What is the situation where you live? Two of my Local  SMALL Hobby shops carry that kit!

Thanks alot Andrew. The blue you see is the natural color of the sprue--I did not have to paint any blue. The other blue areas are all decals where they match that shade of cobalt blue perfectly. The same with the red scheme as they give you 2 pre-colored fuselage pieces and all the appropriate decals in both colors. I only painted the white areas with Tamiya basic white to eliminate any of the faint swirling or marbling of the pieces, plus the decals snug down better to gloss paint than bare styrene. I hope you give one a try.

When you say brand, you mean the manufacturer of the kit?  It's by a high end, high quality model maker called Ebbro.  They seem to be mostly limited to Japan and other Asian countries. However, you can still get one on line but they are commanding a high price - around $80 with shipping.  If you are a civilian aircraft fan or love to build private jets, this is a must have and worth it.  Suprisingly, the blue you see on the fuselage is indeed the color of the styrene right out of the box and the other blue bits are all decals that perfectly match.  I only primed the white parts and then painted them with basic white from Tamiya acrylic paints.  If you want to do the red scheme, they did the same thing.  The other fuselage piece is already red and the red decals match perfectly as well.  I forgot to add that all the sprues are individually wrapped in celophane as are the 2 pre-colored fuselage pieces.  

what brand and shade blue paint did you use?

Great work! I have this kit in the stash. I'm thrilled to hear it goes together like a Tamiya kit. This is my wife's dream plane haha. We just saw one in person the other day at KHCR and were impressed by how sporty it was and also how quiet its engines were. Great job! Love the blue.

Nice!  I've been eyeballing this kit for some time - good to hear she's a winner.  I only hesitate because of price and the different fuselage assembly but it's great to hear it goes together so well.  I've got a few of their F1 kits and they look beautiful - could have sworn it was Tamiya - and it all makes sense after reading the designer from Tamiya went to do EBBRO.  It also seems like they are getting in bed on some projects.

Anyhow - nice job on a beautiful airplane.
