1/35 figures of regular (non-military) people?
Posted by echolmberg on Thursday, August 14, 2008 12:48 PM

Hi guys!

I'm going to be working on a Tamiya 1/35 Triceratops for my 5 year old daughter who just LOVES dinosaurs.  She thought it would be so cool to build a diorama along with it.  For kicks and grins, I thought it would be neat to include a person standing next to the dino as a size comparison.  Does anyone know if I can find a regular person in 1/35 scale just in a standing pose?  Do they make anything close to that scale that I could find in a model train shop?  I think it would be kind of weird to have a Triceratops standing right next to a Panzer tank commander.  But I suppose if worse came to worse.....

Thanks!

Eric

PS.  As a side thought....I might have a lot of explaining to do to her future history teacher as to why my daughter thinks the dinosaurs defeated the Nazis in WW2.

Go to The Red Lancer and doa search for "civilian." You'll come up with a good number of 1/35 civilians.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

ajlafleche, that is awesome!!!  LOL!  Thanks for the great tip!  I'm thinking of getting a figure of either a guy holding a bucket or a shovel and placing him behind the Triceratops.  LOL!

Some of those Tamiya 1/35 dino kits come with a scientist figure. You can also look at Preiser's and Verlindens line up for non military types. Perhaps Verlinden's 1/35 TV crew?

Like Stikpusher mentioned, Preiser's has sets of civilians in 1/35 at least 3 different sets.

You might try Preiser figures from Germany; try the (train) G scale (approx. 1/32 scale) ones.  They have tons of civilians in various poses.  They might be a little pricey, but you can find them sometimes for a really reasonable price on eBay or at a Train shop/LHS.

I think I've even seen one with a camera, if you wanted to make a little museum-type scene.  Hope this helps!!
