Buddho, that is just awesome! I am amazed at how this is turning out, even after just the beginning.

very nice!  I was a little concerned when i saw the first pic that his face was gonna look like raw meat!  The latest face looks much better to say the least.  I like the different greens used for the different bits of fabric, very convincing.

Here is the finished photos of the GI-Ardennes. Talc was added to the paint to give the wool coat texture.

Superb work !!! Nice textures on the helmet and uniform...great colors, especially nice touch w/ the brass fittings...the hint of whiskers is spot-on (I might have gone a tad heavier)...outstanding eyes...5 stars...

Your work is incredible.

One minor point, it's really just a technical issue, but the lower top portion of the Garand rifle depicted in the bust is actually a wood part, not metal.   It's called the rear handguard.Your work is amazing, and I hate to nit pick, but it's all about accuracy, right?

Here's a picture of one off a rifle.

You are an artist, I am merely a technician.

Hi Dan.  Looking closely at the figure, that metal separation between the front and rear handguards, painted as metal in your excellent depiction, is correct, that is a 1/4 inch (swag) metal band that separates the front wood handguard and the stock at the bottom and the rear handguard at the top.  I hope that's clear, the large "metal" part on the top of the rifle is incorrect, but that narrow metal space on the bottom of your rifle should carry all the way to the top, circling the whole rifle.

Here's a picture, it's an airsoft, not a real rifle, but I think you can see what I am trying to say.

If that's still unclear, I will dig mine out of the safe and post better pictures, I just found this pic online because it was quicker.

Really, though, that figure is absolutely stunning.  With this minor fix, it is a show stopper.

Let me know if you need any better pictures,

Bill
