Zveda kits???
Posted by senojrn on Saturday, June 20, 2009 11:00 AM

Can anybody tell me what the quality of these 1/35 scale Zveda figure kits are like?  Specifically: #3582 - Panzer Grenadiers and #3585 - German Halftrack crew.

What kits are they similar to in quality--Tamiya, Dragon, ICM, Master Box Ltd?  They seem to be priced A LOT cheaper than the rest of figure manufacturers, so I'm trying to determine if they are worth spending $$ on.

Thanks in advance for your help!

They are on par with older Dragon and Tamiya kits. The moldings and details are not bad. I am actually building the half track crew right now to put with the old Tamiya 251C but they look a bit on the large side compared to the kit figures. However those look smaller than the current generation of 35th scale figures. I think they are superior to older ICM figures and on par with their current line. You certainly get your moneys worth. If you are stickler about faces/heads, you may want to get yourself some resin heads to us on the bodies.

Thanks, Stik!  I appreciate the reply.  They're not too expensive, so I think I may spring for a couple kits for a little variety in the poses!  Thanks again!

Yes indeed... if you get yourself a few sets of heads and add them to these figures, you will be just fine. Dont get me wrong the faces/heads on thier latest sets are not bad... but they have jsut the slightest resemblance, in my eye, to Soviet WW2 poster art... the herioc Soviet soldier face.

What would be some good, same/similar scale heads to use?  (Since 1/35 scale...nor any scale....is really exactly the same to "standard")  I have no experience using resin replacement heads.

I recommend Hornet heads. More pricy than the above mentioned, but sooooo worth it.
