DML 1/35 German mounted troop WIP/ first major scratch (attempt)

He's of the Florian Geyer div. I don't know much about them, anyone know anything more than they were mounted?

Lets get started! I for the life of me cannot find the right leg on this sucker and his pointing right arm was a bit too straight and unnatural for me, as was his head, so... here we go:

Its not glued, so I can putty it up. I was just done for the day and put him on his "high horse" Big Smile [:D]

Display side (a.k.a. good side Big Smile [:D]

Trumpeter modern US Marine vs. DML German troop, didn't quite work, but I think it will turn out fine?? Confused [%-)] with some love and epoxy putty, plus one of my spare knee boots. There's some styrene in there to help close the gap.

"New" arm/"new" head more of a 40% than a full 180% point, and the head is at 2 o'clock instead of 12, I just shaved his neck down.

His arms a little big, but that was the old Dragon mold so I matched it as well as i could.

Top view:

And of coarse, his trusty equipment (all DML).

Not too bad of a first attempt, if I say so myself.

Any suggestions, greatly appreciated! Thumbs Up [tup]

hey p.o. lil bro, i think you got a good thing going here. that said, i would invest in some amroid proweld. i for one hate gaps!!! i hate filling gaps!!! what proweld is is a liquid glue that uses capillary action to "melt" the plastic and bond the joints being "welded". long story a bit longer...it eliminates seams and filling gaps!!!!!!! to each their own of course, but why bother if you dont have to i'll never understand!!! so much extra work!! just ask your bro, im always raving about that stuff! its about $3 a bottle and will last you a little while if you take care of it! just trying to help is all.

ok, i've ranted on your thread long enough. you've already filled your gaps so...i think this will look good. its molded really well. Smile [:)] Thumbs Up [tup]

I'll look into getting myself a bottle. Thanks! Do you just get it at your LHS or online? Eh. I'll find it, but thanks for the tip.
