Best slings eva!

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] I like something that  really holds its shape for this job, like the winebottle foil. Other sources for various foils that work great for similar jobs are yogurt lids and ointment tubes. Another material we all have handy is the photo-etch "sprue" & left-over P.E. pieces, although this is usually a little too wide for weapon slings,as is.(but there's often choice pieces if you clean it off.

Great example of people's personal preferences .... IMO I like using the masking tape b/c you can put it whatever shape you want, don't have to worry about bending it too much or getting a crease in the wrong place ... and once you got it where you want it just take a small drop of CA and smooth it over the surface. That baby ain't goin' NO-WHER'!

... but, just my 2 cents ...

I use masking tape, covered with a thin layer of super glue (once in the correct position), then painted.

I use aluminum foil duct tape for straps, slings, belts, etc...  It holds any shape you want, plus the sticky-side will allow easy attatchment.  It's a little on the spendy-side, about 7 bucks for 10 feet of 2-inch wide tape, but will last a lifetime, practically..

I've read many times of people using that white Teflon Plumbers tape (goes between 2 peices of pipe). It is very thin and I think would work but haven't tried myself.

Pam

OK, I didn't understand the question. As a nurse I thought he wanted to make slings for injured arms-not gun slings!!!! Sorry for this incorrect post as you must have thought I was nuts! Pam

take some blue masking tape. pull out a long piece. fold over in half so the two sticky sides adhere to each other. take a ruler and an exacto and cut to size! pretty much it.

One method is to use masking tape, another is to use paper stiffened with super glue, I have not tried that one yet but I will soon! Tell me if you need more explaining than that.

Thanks, Jim
